My new skincare regimen

So, I want to introduce to you guys my new skincare regimen. I have been struggling with my skin for years! And no matter how many different things I tried nothing seemed to work for me… at least 100%. I would try something and it would be good and then, BAM! It would suddenly stop working, lack results, or make my skin worse. And after I had my facial a couple weeks ago and told her what I was using, she nearly killed me. I was using St. Ives Apricot Scrub, just a drugstore brand face wash because that seemed to be the only thing maintaing my skin. Not making it better, but not making it worse. But she advised that I try Origins. Of course, I’ve seen it in Sephora and Macy’s but never really thought about investing in a good face cleanser, toner, and moisturizer. But hey, what do I have to lose right? So, I hopped on my laptop and did a little bit of research on the brand and surprising fell in love with all of their products, the branding, and the organic ingredients. Origins has a great little test you can take directly on their website to figure out which collection is right for you! And that is when I discovered their Zero Oil collection. I have very oily, and acne-prone skin. So this was a perfect match for me! I just purchased the 3 products today and tried it out this afternoon… so far, so good. I really like the tingling, clean feeling it gives my skin (because it is infused with mint!) ahhhhhh… much better! I hope to give you guys some progress within the next coming weeks and let you know if it is working, or if I tossed it in the trash (well, not literally)

If you guys know of any awesome products please email me and share the info! I’d be more than happy to blog about it.

Happy memorial day, from the desert!

Aren’t these photos just AMAZING?!! My sister has some serious skills.

This memorial day weekend I spent at my parents’ new house helping them decorate, unpack, hang out and enjoy each other’s company. I haven’t been able to do that with them in nearly 5 years. My parents have been living in Northern California since 2008 and I have been living in Los Angeles since 2010. So nearly 5 years later, they have officially moved back to Southern California and currently residing in our hometown. I am so happy to have them back and much closer to me I can’t even explain to you my excitement!!! Of course, there is nothing to ever do in Barstow. It’s a small town and there isn’t much excitement going on… So, me and my sister decided to have a photoshoot outside. It was nearly 100 degrees outside, the sun was beating down on my face, and I was feeling pretty disgusting standing there getting all sweaty lol. Now, let me tell you my sister is FUCKING TALENTED. She can turn a boring, grey rock into the most magnificent, shiny and well rounded rock you have ever seen. Her photography skills are out of this world! She has an eye for creativity… I think something I have to try and have more of. She must have got the good gene. She’s THAT good. So, knowing me, I took advantage of this opportunity and asked her if I could be her little “model” and show me how it’s done. She did an amazing job!! As you can see!!

My sister would be more than happy to help others who want to enhance their photos too with cool backgrounds, filters, effects etc etc! So please, contact her :)

Have a great day loves,

xo Sarah

Fav Designer of the week!

I am a HUGE fashionista. Some may say I am also a shopaholic. I have so many different styles, of course depending on my current mood. If I had to describe my style I would say: edgy, effortless, and mature. I shop at the mall at least once, maybe twice a week. Yes, I know.. I have a problem. But, I don’t tend to see it that way (hehe)

If I could write down my list of fav designers, it would be longer than some would expect. And all of my favorite designers are different than one another, I tend to like it that way. So, I have come up with a brilliant idea to share to all my readers on a weekly basis my favorite designers and why I love them so much! (NO SPECIFIC ORDER)

Introducing my fav designer of the week: TED BAKER

Image(I put together my fav picks from the Ted Baker collection. Aren’t they just ALL so adorable?!!)

There is nothing, and I mean NOTHING in the Ted Baker collection that I do not love entirely. It is full of floral designers, creative juices, bright and eye popping colors, and it screams FUN! I love designers that put the beautiful art of life into their line and make it even better. Ted Baker carries a full line of handbags, wallets, shoes, apparel, and accessories. You will love every single piece! My favorite part of the Ted Baker collection is the bows! Ted is a pure genius in the fashion world and he has the ability to design his collection to attract women of all ages, regardless of preferences or personal style. The cute bow he adds to every piece of his collection makes you fall IN LOVE with his line, and that is what I love most about his collection.

Editing Photos for Instagram

Can you believe that just nearly 4 years ago Instagram didn’t even exist?! Crazy to think how much Instagram alone has changed our daily lives. We think we are all professional photographers and models… I promise I’m not poking fun at anyone because I am one too! (hehe) Along with the expansion and growth of Instagram, comes all the wonderful and creative apps that can take our photos from blah… to WHOA! I want to share a few of my favorite editing and photo enhancing apps :)

PicLab// It is a fairly simple app to use (free, of course!) and allows users to change the brightness, contrast, blur and a few others things too. PicLab even has its own filters to add to your photos! Although the app is free through the app store, it does require full purchase of the app to use all of its capabilities to unlock all the filters and cool graphics, but honestly its not necessary.

6f52d71b9fd7ae8d6fce542782f8095aInstasize// How frustrating is it when your photo doesn’t entirely fit in the box to upload your photo? You are either cropping someone out of your photo or risking the entire photo to lose its beauty just so you can upload it. Well, I have discovered a solution to that problem with this app. It is pretty simple… You just upload your photo through this app first, link to your Instagram, upload again and voila! Easy peezy, lemon squeezy.

Instant// (This app is not free!) I am obsessed with vintage style photos. I love being able to change the age of a photo, even if it was taken yesterday. Instant is an app that turns your photo into a polarized picture! Pretty cool right? Just choose the photo straight from your camera roll, you may have to crop it just a little, and your photo is instantly turned into a polaroid. You can add cute little text, add a few filters and upload straight to Instagram! Of course, if you aren’t into the polaroid look but the vintage look is more your thing, you can always ditch the polaroid and disable that feature.

Go download these cool apps and make your photos even better than before! You won’t regret it, I promise. xoxo

The Wander Forest

The Wander Forest… Some may read that as the title of my blog. 3 words compressed together to make a name for itself. But it means a lot more to me than 3 simple words compressed together to make a statement. When you think about a forest you imagine beautiful, tall, green trees filled with life and age beyond what the eye can see. Every tree, every shrub, every leaf, and every flower is different and unique in its own way and the forest serves a peaceful place for sanctuary and control of the wandering mind. Yes, the name of my blog is 3 simple words compressed together but the meaning behind the name is greater than one would expect. I’m in love with the idea and meaning the forest holds dear to my heart and I have closely related this meaning to my own life and experiences. Every person is different and unique in their own way. We are all the trees, shrubs, leaves, and flowers of the forest.

Inside the mind of a woman

Hello lovies!

Okay, so lately I’ve been hearing so much complaining from all the men in my life about how difficult and confusing the mind of a woman is. That got me to thinking, are we really as confusing as men make us out to be? Are women truly that difficult to understand and please? Am I considered to be one of these “typical women” who can’t be figured out by a man because I’m from venus? So here is what I came up with…

I believe that every woman on this planet is uniquely made. We are NOT all alike, and if you believe that every woman is exactly the same.. You have other issues, my friend. But that doesn’t ignore the fact that I do strongly believe that many women share common similarities involving our actions, words, or sensitivity. All these characteristics may vary, but I will take you to the inside of the mind of a woman. It’s a scary place… You have been warned.

Every guy seems to think that all girls are all about the bigger, the better! Whether it’s a car, a ring, or a house. Don’t get me wrong here, we love a big car, big ring, and a big beautiful house… But what guys don’t seem to understand is that sometimes the simple, teeny-tiny things that you do for us, makes up for all the other big things that we could care less about. Ever heard the saying, “It’s the thought that lionroarsmall_grandecounts” well… It is true! A woman would rather you put a lot of thought into a special gift, than walk into a jewelry store and pick out a piece that’s the largest and most expensive.  Of course, I can’t speak for ALL women.. but I’m pretty sure I can speak for most of us (at least the ones with our heads screwed on right!).

I can’t emphasize enough on how truly important it is for a man to show his affection towards a woman he truly loves and cares about. Of course, this works vice versa as well because I know how important it is for a man to receive affection from his woman. This should be a key component in any relationship, but in this new generation of technology advancements and the ability to show affection in different ways because it’s not just physical now. Not exactly sure what I’m talking about? Think about it… Every woman loves to be mentioned in his Facebook status, his tweet, even his Instagram for #WCW (woman crush Wednesday). Social networking has really improved the ability for someone to show affection, who may not be so comfortable showing it physically. And guys, take notes here. Every woman loves this. No woman will admit this, but we love when you show us off and make us feel as if we are your “entire world” it makes us feel good about ourselves. Treat your woman like a queen, and she will treat you like a king.

Til next time,

xo Sarah

The struggle is real

Ok, so I know it has been awhile since I’ve posted on my blog but I have an explanation for that. So I have recently moved into a new apartment and didn’t have much time to get wi-fi installed, but now that it is all taken cared of I am happy to announce that I am back up on my blog! Yay!

d5d7e1646b989f09685e3994eb5bcc25You would think with all this time I have had off from blogging I would have tons of topics and ideas to write about, but sadly to say I have not! My brain is not working very properly these days considering school has been pooped out (ugh!) but I promise to have a blog topic here very soon!!!

Hope you all have a good night and safe weekend
