What’s in my make-up bag??

Good morning lovies,

20140518-012012.jpg

I am a Sephora haul freak! I am constantly looking up new hot items on their website, reading the reviews, visiting the store to try on their products… Yeah, I know it is a bit of a problem. But with this crazy weird obsession I have going, I have also gained a lot of knowledge on what products work best, not only for myself, but for other people as well! Based on your skin type, seeking benefits, yada-yada-yada. I have a few lovely favorites that I swear by, so if you get the chance PLEASE go check these items out. (Some are a bit pricey, but I promise it is worth every penny) Hope you all enjoy your Friday, till we meet again. xo

Foundation: Hourglass Immaculate Liquid Powder

I have very oily skin. Especially in my t-zone area, so it is really hard for me to find a good solid foundation that can cover and stay put all day long. But I have found my miracle in a bottle! This amazing foundation is a liquid powder.. Sounds a little crazy right? This is how it works, it starts off as a liquid foudation and while you’re applying evenly on your face the liquid starts to transform into a powder. NO NEED FOR PRESSED POWDER! So basically this is a 2 in 1 product, and it is GREAT for oily skin. Over 80% of people who use this product were less oily, or oil free for the entire day! The hourglass line is only solid in a select few of Sephora stores, so be sure to call and make sure it is there! Or you can always order it online. It is a little pricey… $55.00 a pop! But I promise it is well worth the price, and believe me when I tell you a little goes a long way. So the product should last you awhile :)

Concealer: Benefit Erase Paste

I have just recently started wearing concealer. I know right?! What’s wrong with me. But anyways, everyone has this theory that you must buy a concealer the same shade as your skin, or your foundation… But ladies (or gents) that is false. Because the area underneath your eyes are dark, you must cancel it out with a shade closer to orange. And Benefit has the perfect product! It comes in 3 shades, light, medium, and dark. THAT’S IT! The orange-y tone cancels out the dark area underneath your eyes and gives amazing full coverage you will be amazed by! Perfect product for those who have very dark tones under their eyes, or for those who just need a little brightening up in that area. I apply this product using a very small concealer brush, NEVER with my finger or a sponge. And again, a little goes a long way. This product is $26.00 and is fairly priced among the other concealers out there!

Mascara: Too Faced- Better Than Sex AND Yves Saint Laurent- Faux Cils

Okay, so above any make-up product out there by far my favorite is mascara. I can’t even begin to explain to you all how many mascaras I have tried or how many I own currently at the moment. It is pretty embarrassing. But, I have come across some AMAZING products through out this trial and error. My 2 favs currently would be Better Than Sex mascara by Too Faced and Faux Cils by YSL. Let me tell you why I love these 2 mascaras and a few of the benefits you get with each of these products. The mascara by Too Faced is less expensive, for one, and for two, it is a great daily mascara. If you like your eyelashes thick and full of volume, this is the product for you! The brush is big and gets all your lashes evenly with every stroke. The mascara by YSL is more expensive, but it is well worth its price. It provides volume, length, and curl. You name is– this product does it! Every time I wore this mascara, people always asked me if I was wearing false lashes… WOW! Now that is a compliment! YSL $30.00 and Too Faced $23.00

Lips: NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil

I love wearing lipstick! Red, pink, dark purple.. you name it! But, I only prefer using, what Sephora calls “chubby sticks.” The product looks more like a big crayon, than a lipstick. I prefer using chubby sticks because the product lasts longer, doesn’t melt off your face or smear. Also, I love using matte lip products. To me, it looks a lot better on my lips and doesn’t come off!! It is a perfect go-to product and will not disappoint you… No matter what color you get! Nearly every make up line at Sephora sells these “chubby sticks” but by far my favorite is by NARS. This product is $25.00

Okay guys, so now you know what my favorite items are in my make-up bag. Now, hurry down to your nearest Sephora and get these items! Or at least try them on at the store, or you can always ask one of the cast members for a sample. Hope you all enjoyed my blog this morning :)

Have a great weekend, and be safe

My highs, and my lows

e139b15d1fab6b22853f3dc6e3616470

“God is greater than the highs and lows.”

This is my new tattoo. It describes everything that I have been going through in 2014… simply, highs and lows. But regardless of all the highs and the lows that I am going through, no matter what I will always have God. By far, this tattoo is the most special to me.

This year so far has been such a roller coaster. And we are only in the month of April, I know! But like they say, “what doesn’t kill you, will only make you stronger!” And I am stronger. Everyday I find my strength and I am proud of how far I have come because I earned it. I’m a strong woman!

2014 has really taught me a lot about myself. I have learned to deal with many things on my own. Learning the woman that I am becoming and embracing all that comes along with it! I have recently overcome anxiety and anger issues that I was suffering from for years, but was never fully aware of it until I lost someone in my life. I am much better now. I realize that the person that I was allowing myself to become was pushing people away, making me bitter, and making others not want to be around me. I needed to change that. I needed to become a better, happy, and lovable person because living my life in this constant shadow was getting me nowhere. With months of therapy, support from my friends and family, and the strength within myself I was able to overcome all of that. And I am happy to be here writing to all of you and sharing my experience. I am not ashamed of who I am, or who I was. There is always time for change, it is never too late. Start today and see what tomorrow can bring you! You will be happy that you did it… whatever it may be!
